FAQ

Common questions about power of attorney.

Does a Power of Attorney need to be registered in Maharashtra?+

A General PoA for property sale/transfer must be registered at the sub-registrar's office in Maharashtra. Special PoAs for limited purposes (banking, court representation) typically need only notarial attestation. We advise based on your use case.

Can an NRI grant a Power of Attorney from abroad?+

Yes. The PoA is drafted in India, signed before the Indian Consulate or apostilled in the country of residence, then registered or attested in Pune. We coordinate the full process for NRI clients.

How can a Power of Attorney be revoked?+

By a registered Revocation Deed served on the attorney-holder and, where applicable, the sub-registrar where the original was registered. We draft revocation deeds the same day if needed.
